For any new parents, Runathon is an event that was set up by The Dukeries College as part of our ‘Family of Schools’ programme. It is a fun and worthwhile event that promotes the healthy schools initiative and encourages all of our pupils to participate in physical activity.

 We had a very successful Runathon week last year with children, parents and staff running (and walking) over 1,500 miles!!

 As before, children and parents can run (or walk) circuits of the grounds before and after school, and during break times. All participants collect a cube from the recording desk after each circuit and the number of circuits is recorded at the end of each session. (Four circuits is equivalent to 1 mile.) At the end of
the week we add up all the scores and see how many circuits each person has done.

Participation is purely voluntary, but we hope that everyone will join in. The circuit will be open from 8.30 a.m. before school and from 3.15 to 4.00 p.m. after school.

 If your child wishes to take part, please ensure they have a water bottle to bring to school and appropriate footwear. If they are planning to run the course rather than walk) on most occasions, then please send with them some additional P.E kit e.g track suit, spare shorts, t-shirt etc.

Just a quick reminder that the FOW quiz night is taking place on Friday 23rd March in school.  The quiz will start at 6.30pm and will finish approximately 8.30pm.

Refreshments will be served in school.

Any children attending can come and watch a DVD in school whilst the quiz is on!

Thank you so much for supporting our Mothers” Day performance this morning.  We were very proud of the way all of the children performed and hope that you enjoyed it as much as the children and staff did.

Just a quick reminder that school is shut tomorrow (Monday 20th February) for a INSET day.  School will re-open as normal on Tuesday 21st February.  We hope you have all had a restful holiday.

Thank you so much for your support in our Harvest Festival this year.  Your food and money donations were much appreciated and the money will be welcomed by Self Help Africa.  I’m sure all of you that attend church today will agree that all of our children were stars!  The singing, chanting and presenting skills were all fantastic!
